UNE Hosts National Novel Writing Month
UNE’s Creative Writing Club encourages all to join in a seemingly impossible challenge.
Beginning October 26th, the Creative Writing Club will begin hosting National Novel Writing Month, which prompts participants to write a novel in roughly thirty days. The event runs until November 30th and invites all students, faculty, and staff to join. Everyone who chooses to take part in the challenge will meet to have a weekly discussion on Wednesdays from 1 pm to 2 pm in Decary 208. All writing genres are welcome!
This task is a judgment-free opportunity that allows all involved to share the triumphs and struggles of writing fiction. The end goal is less about creating a finished novel and more about the experience of getting your thoughts on the page; it doesn’t have to be perfect. In fact, there are genuinely no requirements for this challenge. People do not often get the opportunity to sit and write, but this event provides the time and motivation to do so.
Established in the Fall of 2020, UNE’s Creative Writing Club is focused on helping embrace creativity and imagination. For anyone interested in learning more about the club, contact Anjana Govindaraj at [email protected] or visit a Creative Writing Club meeting; the club meets bi-weekly on Tuesdays at 6:30 pm in Decary 208.
