8/30, 12:20 AM. Unauthorized Taking of a Boat: Shortly after midnight on August 30th, UNE students unlawfully took a boat moored out on the Saco River for a joyride. Communications Director Crystal Canney, when reached for comment, replied “Students took a dinghy early Saturday morning from the UNE campus.  Multiple agencies were called in to assist after it was discovered they were gone. The students did return safely to campus.” Anonymous sources tell Nor’easter News the students used the dinghy to access a motor boat, which they started up and took for a little midnight cruise. Canney wanted to assure students “the University treats these incidents seriously and is doing an internal review to see how it can prevent similar incidents. It’s the policy of the University not to release the name of the students.”
