Nor’easter Knockout, Knocks it Out of the Park

The University of New England is not known for its Raves, but last night UNE hosted the event to beat. The consensus after Nor’easter Knockout Paint Party says it was a hit.

The atmosphere at the event was as laid back as it could be. Students were not greeted by UNE Security waiting in the Campus Center lobby like all of the major events on campus, which began the night on a high note. Without the standard UNE “Drunk Tank” to start off the party, the bass was bumping from start to finish.

A party like this was a first for many students. First Year, Joey Buzzell was unsure about going to Nor’easter Knockout, “The paint party was unlike any event I had ever been to. It was really different and was something I wasn’t completely sure about going to as it was a little out of my comfort zone but once I was there, I had a blast!”

UNE EMS was staged in a back room of the Campus Center but was not needed during the event.

700 tickets were sold to the party, the line to get in extending far out the doors. The line moved slowly as tickets were scanned and waivers were signed. Although the event was scheduled until midnight, the night ended at 11:30pm. Soon after Facebook was filled with pictures and excitement of the first Paint Party at UNE confirming the success of the event.

Yik Yak was buzzing with opinions. “The paint party was awesome…” Someone anonymously posted, “Yeah it was crowded and it obviously wasn’t going to be 100% perfect considering it was at a school, but it was still good, so stop bitching”.

The Nor’easter Knockout Paint Party has set the bar high for the remaining large events planned for this semester. With the announcement of Timeflies as Spring Concert, will UNE be able to keep the party going?
