Nor’easter Dollars enhance UNE’s meal plans by offering meals at various off-campus eateries, all included within Room and Board Fees. Both the 17 and 12 swipe meal plans come with $75 in Nor’easter Dollars that can be spent at participating locations using your student ID. Unused dollars will carry over from the fall to spring semester, just like Flex, guaranteeing students have ample time to use every dollar.

Using Nor’easter Dollars at an off-campus location is as easy as using a debit card, except there’s no PIN required. Simply bring your UNE ID to a participating location, and let the staff know you’ll be paying with Nor’easter.

Participating locations in Biddeford:

  • Cowbell Burger Bar

140 Main Street, Biddeford

  • D’Angelo Grilled Sandwiches

417 Alfred Road, Biddeford

  • Domino’s Pizza

111 Elm Street, Biddeford

  • George’s Sandwich Shop

37 Franklin Street, Biddeford

  • Panera Bread

130 Shops Wy, Biddeford

  • Papa John’s

222 Elm Street, Biddeford

  • Super Sub Shop

69 Jefferson Street, Biddeford

The balance you see on the Pub register after tapping, or on receipts, includes both Nor’easter Dollars and Flex lumped together. Nor’easter Dollars will automatically be drawn from once you have used up your Flex ($125 with 12 meal swipes and $75 with 17).

In other words, your Nor’easter Dollars double as Flex, but Flex does not double as Nor’easter because Flex can’t be spent off-campus.

Currently, there is no app or online resource to see the two balances separately, which means it is up to you to keep track of how much you have spent from the $75 Nor’easter Dollar benefit.

Say you haven’t used any Nor’easter Dollars in town, but after buying a snack at Windward the value balance on your receipt states $60. This means you only have $60 of Nor’easter Dollars left to spend at off-campus locations, and you have used the difference of $15 on-campus as Flex.

Nor’easter and Flex can be used at both Portland and Biddeford campuses.

Participating on-campus locations:

Biddeford Campus

  • Ripich Commons
  • The Pub
  • The Forum
  • Alfond Café
  • Windward

Portland Campus

  • Nor’easter Café
  • Parker Cafe

Nor’easter Dollars can be refilled anytime by signing in at this link, hovering over the ‘More’ tab in the righthand corner of your screen, and choosing the Flex Dollar subtab. From here, you can click on the Nor’easter Dollar heading and add funds to your plan in $25 intervals, beginning at $50 and maxing out at $300.
